# Two-stage dialing

#### **How it works**

Two-stage dialing is a service allowing you to benefit from cheaper long-distance rates.

This per-minute long-distance calling service can be shared with up to 3 telephone numbers. Dial the access code, wait for the tone, press 1, and dial your destination number (including the regional code).

#### Two-stage dialing process

1. Dial your local access number as per the [Access Number Lookup Tool](https://secure.distributel.net/en/centre-local-access_en.htm).

2. When you hear a dial tone, dial 1 followed by the area code and phone number you want to reach.
3. Two-stage dialing works with all phones including mobile phones.
